Top viral "tricks of life" that turned out to be useless

How often do we see on the Internet an abundance of useful tips that cause an enthusiastic response from users. Perhaps, almost every week the next viral life hack is born, designed to make our life easier. But are they really all so useful? Despite the fact that almost everyone knows that any information from the network needs to be approached critically, we continue to blindly believe most of the tips that we are offered. We present to you the top ten Internet life hacks, after understanding which you understand that they are too good to be true.

Cardboard column for a phone from a toilet paper sleeve

This life hack convinces us that if you cut a cardboard roller and insert a phone into it, you can get some kind of speaker system. But in fact, cardboard drowns out the sound, and the effect will be, let's say directly, the opposite.

The battery will last longer if cooled

So, according to the author of this popular advice, by removing the phone for several hours in the refrigerator, you can increase its working time. However, battery manufacturers did not support the theory, and even, on the contrary, cautioned them by saying that low temperatures could ruin the device, because condensation can lead to corrosion of contacts.

Using a regular tennis ball, you can open the door of any car

Life hack says: if you cut a hole in the ball and press it to the lock, then compressed air from the ball will move the pin inside the lock and the door will open. In truth, the air pressure available here is not enough to do this.

Charge your phone with a bow and energy drink

The trick here is supposedly the following: if you make several holes in the onion, and then soak it in an energy drink, you can get a charger. Just stick the charging wire into the bulb, the other end of which is connected to the phone. It is worthwhile to give credit, such advice could still sound believable if, for example, a metal nail and a copper coin were present in it. After all, as you know, the flow of electrons begins to pass in the case of creating a galvanic cell, when the interaction of two metals and an electrolyte begins. Therefore, using this advice, you still cannot charge the phone.

Antiseptic is able to remove stains from clothing.

If someone else has not tried to remove stains from a felt-tip pen or pen with an alcohol hand antiseptic, then it’s better not to try. After all, if you apply an antiseptic to the stain, then the ink will only enter deeper into the tissue.

Beer cooling with air conditioning

In case there is no place for a bottle of beer in your refrigerator, the next life hack is designed to help cool it: hang the drink next to the air conditioner using a coat rack or tape. But do not you think that it is much easier to just leave the bottle for a few minutes in the freezer.

Column for laptop from glasses

According to the author of this trick, two halves of a plastic cup placed on the laptop speakers amplify the sound. Well, of course, plastic does not absorb sound, like cardboard, but nevertheless, such a design will lead to the fact that sound waves will be reflected back to the keyboard, and not towards users.

The hanger can be used as a corkscrew to uncork a bottle of wine.

Life hack involves the use of a metal curved end of the hanger as a corkscrew. Unfortunately, all that can be brought about is either breaking the hanger or breaking the bottle. After all, hangers simply do not have sufficient strength for this, and their shape is not particularly suitable.

Hammer and nails will help open the wine when there is no corkscrew

Another way out of a situation where there is no corkscrew: if a nail is driven into a cork, it can be pulled out of the bottle by pulling the nail head with a nail puller. Immediately we can note the obvious unreliability of this advice, where the variations in which several nails or a self-tapping screw are used will be much more successful.

Headphone wires can be unraveled by a simple shake

As a tip for dealing with ever-confusing headphones, some suggest simply squeezing the area where the headphones are connected to the phone and shaking them. What can I say, at first glance, it sounds like a great way to look strange on the street, but nothing more.

In the end, I would like to wish everyone more skepticism regarding Internet advisers so that there is less risk of running into such "tricks of life" that can do much harm.
