I hate India

If I were asked to tell about India in three words, and these words must have been censored, I would choose "chaos", "poverty" and "garbage". And this can easily be seen by visiting the largest city in the north-east of the country - Guwahati. My son and I brought it directly from Bhutan, and the next day we had the dubious pleasure of "enjoying" the original Indian life and culture.

A bit of background. In 1947, when India gained independence, Assam became a large state, uniting all the northeastern regions. Then nationalistic unrest began in it and each of the regions began to demand autonomy. Everything fell apart. To this day, there are territories that do not want to obey the official government. All this, as you know, makes an additional mess in the already chaotic life-style of local residents ...

Just a small touch to the portrait: when we checked into the hotel, our car was searched for weapons and forbidden things. But, it should be noted, for a half hour trip to UBER we paid only 125 rubles.

Abstain from the quality of gluing panoramas. Here it is, real India. Absolute untidiness, sloppiness, dirt and poverty in the degree of poverty. Look at the man on earth. There are hundreds and thousands of them. How do they live? What do they live on?

It’s very difficult to cope with the stink constantly haunting you.

The local humpback.

Communication does not work. My Beeline and Driesim did not catch anything. It’s very difficult to take local SIM cards, since you need to present a passport and it takes a lot of time to complete the registration, so we decided to do without communication for one day.

Local market.

Actual Adedos by weight.

Bread balls "golagopa" stuffed with any filling. Photographed, but did not dare to try.

All Indians constantly spit. Chew your betel nut like camels, and spit every minute. A disgusting habit. In more or less central places, people need to be reminded of the basic rules of decency.

A typical picture - a homeless girl with a sleeping child is wandering around the city.

Hairdressers do not particularly bother with the choice of place, but simply sheared on the street.

Dump around the house. People throw their garbage out of the window and live as if nothing had happened. Let’s talk sweetly about the Indian cosmic organization and special spirituality.

Yard in India.

If you need to wash, you can just find a place in the city where pipes leak.

However, if at least someone is washing and honoring personal hygiene, then not all is lost.

Guwahati stands on the south bank of the Brahmaputra River. The embankment is traditionally fouled with special cynicism.

Tuk tuki. There are private ones for one person, there are public ones like our minibuses.

Keepers of traditional Indian values can ride elephants.

And here is the fifth column - a sit-in.

The main temple complex of the city. The wonderful frame of the metal detector is connected to the suitcase, which rings indiscriminately at everyone who passes through the frame.

At the gate, locals sit. Or the poor. Or you can’t make out either of them.

The oldest temple in the city is called Kamakhya. From him they consider the age of the city itself, and this is almost the 7th century AD.

For some reason, the sculptures are coated with paint.

In a nearby temple, a religious procession of women in national dress.

Another temple complex, the name of which is difficult to pronounce in Russian, is Purva Tirupati Shri Balaji.

They drink and walk here. As it turned out, they are celebrating a wedding.
