The architect turned an old cement factory into his home. Incredible transformation

When in 1973, Ricardo Bofill came across a dilapidated cement plant in Spain, he immediately saw a whole world of new opportunities. Thus began his most impressive project, and today, almost 45 years later, this design has been completely transformed into an exciting and unique home.

The factory, located near Barcelona, was littered with equipment from the First World War and required a huge amount of repair work when Ricardo and his team purchased it. After several years of partial deconstruction, the decisive architect proceeded to decorate the exterior surfaces of the real estate and create the interior, as well as engaged in green spaces around his unusual possessions. He equipped a modern space for living and working.

Renovation of the building continues to this day. Industrial chimneys, once filled with air with smoke, are now filled with lush greenery - a stunning example of the wonderful transformations that result from creative thinking.
