Drive to Charvak reservoir

The village of Charvak, the Charvak hydroelectric station and the Charvak reservoir are located in the north of the Tashkent region, on the Chirchik river, in the spurs of the Chatkal ridge of the Western Tien Shan. Stunningly beautiful places, by the way.

Charvak is a town of power engineers and builders of the Charvak hydroelectric power station, like our Khakass village Cheryomushki near the Sayano-Shushenskaya hydroelectric power station.

Charvak is nothing special. Ordinary working village. Unless modern cottages look straight at all quite Uzbek, towers and spire-shaped roofs on private houses in Uzbekistan have become very fashionable. This has never happened before.

On the way to the Charvak reservoir or located a little further down the ski resorts, travelers always traditionally stop to eat in roadside restaurants on the so-called “Barrels”.

On the "Barrels" is always crowded, it is used by gypsies who go here in droves and beg. We have to literally fight back and run away from them. Dude, get dressed like a beggar, your sweatshirt is cooler than mine!

The outer walls of one of the restaurants are very skillfully painted. It is interesting to look at the details.

Pay attention to the man on the right side of the picture.

Here he is alive! This "Khoja Nasreddin" works here as a kind of head waiter.

An interesting fact: after the construction of the Charvak hydroelectric station was completed, many builders were transferred to the construction of our Sayano-Shushenskaya hydroelectric station.

Unfortunately, you can’t get close to the dam, but you can drive up to the reservoir.

On the way met an unusual "reinforcing portrait" of Lenin. In Uzbekistan, in the 90s, all the symbols of the Soviet era were demolished, it can be seen here that Ilyich was completely beaten off his concrete face, but the frame still retained its familiar shape.

We go upstairs. The road completely goes around the reservoir in a circle: rising from one side of the dam, you can go down from the other.

The upper pool of the Charvak hydroelectric station.

The water in the reservoir is very clean and, like many mountain ponds, has an amazing turquoise hue.

Through the village of Yusufkhon went down to the shore.

The beaches of the Charvak reservoir are almost completely rocky, and this is not rounded pebbles, but sharp stones, like crushed stone. Walking barefoot is not very comfortable, you have to put on shale.

Sanatorium "Chorvoq Oromgohi" (Chorvoq Oromgohi) - in the common people of the Pyramid.

There is not a soul on the beach: despite the air temperature of about 28 degrees, the swimming season is long over. All recreation centers and camp sites with container houses are empty.

However, for us, the water turned out to be very personal. In Siberia, water bodies warm up so well only in the middle of summer. After swimming, there was a fantastically delicious barbecue! And on the way back to Tashkent, we bought grapes from pickers right on the edge of the vineyards. Very cheap (30 rubles per 1 kg) and very tasty!
