9 amazing shots of Beijing before and after deadly pollution

For the first time in history, Beijing announced a red warning level due to frighteningly severe air pollution. This is the highest warning indicator out of four.

Artist Wang Renzheng created a project about Beijing using pictures of the city that he had taken before and after terrifying pollution to demonstrate the terrible state of air in the Chinese capital. At the moment, the situation is so dangerous that residents of the city are not recommended to go outside unless absolutely necessary, work in the open air has been stopped, and many schools have canceled classes.

The government is taking measures to reduce smog by introducing various new rules for automobiles and factories, and is also testing cleaning methods such as creating artificial rain that should disperse the pollution cloud.
