It’s best to never add these 19 walking routes to your list of travel plans and desires, unless you are attracted to blood, dirt and stressful situations!

The following tracks require intensive training, excellent equipment and considerable experience. For many of them, good fitness and stamina are also useful, given the high altitude or extreme conditions with limited access to food and water. You should not go to these places unaccompanied by professionals or experts.

Cocode Trail, Papua New Guinea

What is it: On this historic road, battles were fought between Australian and Japanese forces during World War II. It connects the north and south coast of Papua New Guinea.

What is the difficulty: It extends for 60 miles and can only be walked on foot. Sudden changes in temperature, constant rainfall and endemic diseases are a very serious obstacle.

Devil's Way, New York

What is it: Located in the Catskill Mountains, this route is known as one of the most dangerous in the eastern United States.

What is the difficulty: It is 24 miles with climbs of 7 peaks and very dangerous rocks that you have to climb, with limited supplies of water and food.

Via Ferrata, Italy and Austria

What is it: Translated from Italian, this name means "railroad" and is a climb to the top in the Alps using a steel cable for climbers.

What is the difficulty: Here you can find both less complicated and completely unrealistic routes. A difficult route will require a lot of time (at least 8 hours). The traveler will have to overcome very steep climbs and dizzying heights.

King Ravine Trail, New Hampshire

What is it: Part of the White Mountain National Forest. The hike runs through two mountains - Adams and Adams 4 and opens up tremendous ice caves for travelers.
