Children from around the world were photographed with the food they eat in a week.

In the world food industry, frightening trends have long been outlined that lead humanity to sad results. Photographer Gregg Segal became interested in these processes. Studying the rising incidence of childhood obesity and the globalization of GMOs in food, he decided to find out what the weekly diet of children around the world looks like. Segal focused his attention precisely on children's food, because the food habits of modern children have formed just in recent years, when the food industry is more than ever dependent on synthetic preservatives, genetically modified elements and other additives created to improve taste, increase shelf life and more attractive aromas and shades. An amazing series of photographs by Gregg Segal raises themes of nutrition, class well-being and culture.

All pictures were collected in the Daily Bread book. Each child was asked to write down what exactly he ate during the week. Then these products were cooked and laid out around the children, and Segal took photographs. From Los Angeles to Kuala Lumpur - these footage reflect culture and demonstrate how different we are from each other and how similar we become.

Another interesting aspect that affects Segal's work is the impact of the global economy on food habits in different countries. Whereas in the United States, low-income families tend to eat a huge amount of ready-made snacks and semi-finished foods due to their low cost, in other countries this trend looks completely opposite. Some of the healthiest diets in the world come from cultures where people live in poverty. Often, the focus here is on fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts and meat, and destructive, processed foods are the privilege of the rich.
